Threat Prompts Increased Security At Beech High School

Posted: Updated:

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – Students and parents will see increased security at Beech High School in Hendersonville Wednesday after an alleged threat.

Officials said students reported finding a potential threat written on a bathroom wall Tuesday.

Police interviewed multiple students and searched the entire campus to ensure the safety of the students.

After an investigation, the Sumner County Sheriff's Department said the threat was not credible, but they would step up security as a precaution.

Sumner County Schools released a statement that said in part, "Sumner County Schools and the Sumner County Sheriff's Department take incidents like this extremely seriously. We are making every possible effort to ensure the safety of our students at Beech High School."

A concerned mother called NewsChannel 5, and said her child told her about the threat. A picture of the threat has been circulating on social media.

Officials have not said who wrote the potential threat or if anyone is being questioned.
