Dolly Parton Says She Still Plans On New Nashville Attraction

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country legend and theme park mogul Dolly Parton said she's "definitely" going to open a new attraction in the Nashville area "at some point."

"We definitely are going to have some things in and around the Nashville area. We've been working on that for years," Dolly told NewsChannel 5 This Morning during a live interview Thursday.

Last year, Parton and Gaylord had announced a partnership to bring a water/snow park to the area. That deal fell apart after Gaylord sold the operating rights for Opryland to Marriott.

"They needed to do what they needed to do," she said of the Gaylord management. "Things changed for them … We will definitely be working back in the Nashville area at some point."

Dolly was on the show to tout the River Rush, a new water roller coaster debuting Thursday at Dolly's Splash Country in Pigeon Forge.
