Couple Charged After Marijuana Grow Operation Found In Basement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police officers, on an unrelated call, discovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement of a home in Madison on Wednesday night.

Police charged Robert and Daisy Burgeis, ages 37 and 25, with possession of marijuana for resale, gun possession in the commission of a dangerous felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Madison Precinct Flex officer were on Shepherd Hills Drive looking for a wanted individual in an unrelated matter when they detected an odor of marijuana while talking to the Burgeis' in their front yard.

A search warrant was obtained, and officers found the high grade grow operation in a hidden room of their basement garage.

Officers discovered 50 plants in the grow room, an additional 3 and a half pounds of processed marijuana in an upstairs freezer and various other jars of processed marijuana. Police said Robert Burgeis was carrying a pistol, and they seized 12 pistols and eight long guns from the home.
