AT&T Boosts Network Capacity For Steeplechase

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 72nd annual Iroquois Steeplechase race is expecting to draw a big crowd this year, and spectators shouldn't have issues sharing their experience with social media.

AT&T is boosting its network capacity in the area for the weekend by bringing in something it calls a Mega COW. It's the equivalent of multiple cell sites.

"Instagram, Facebook, you know, sending pictures, that's all consuming data and when you have a large concentration you have to have these types of assets in order to connect," said AT&T Mobility Vice President Chris Percy.

The race will be held Saturday at Percy Warner Park. Gates open at 8 a.m. with the first race at 1 p.m. Tickets are still available.
