FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- The rodeo is coming to town and people in Franklin celebrated with a big parade on Saturday.

The roads around downtown Franklin shut down for a little while as men on horseback, floats, classic cars, marching bands, and lots of other things made their way through. The parade is the official kickoff of the rodeo, which starts on Thursday and goes through next Saturday.

Hundreds of people lined the streets, including one proud dad who was there with his son.

"I grew up coming to the Franklin Rodeo Parade and going to the rodeo and now a new generation is going. He's going to be at every one just like me," said Jeff Walker, who was with his son Cash.

The rodeo will be at the Williamson County Ag Expo.
