Local Kids Get Big Lesson In Math and Science

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Lately, there's been a big push to get kids excited about math and science.

This weekend, the group Engineering for Kids of Nashville hosted a free workshop on those subjects at the Brentwood Library. Kids got to participate in different engineering activities such as designing and building roller coasters, fighting robots and more.

The programs are designed to teach kids problem solving skills, how things work, and to motivate them to engage in math and science.

"The fun part of it, you know, not being in a classroom. Having fun and learning at the same time without knowing you're learning something," said Neeti Agarwal with Engineering for Kids.

Engineering for Kids offers summer camps for kids under age 14.
