Whites Creek Cleaned Up On Mother's Day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – About a dozen volunteers spent this Mother's Day helping make a Nashville park a little more enjoyable for everyone else.

The Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association and Whites Creek Watershed Alliance were just two of the organizations that helped put on the Whites Creek Cleanup this weekend.

As part of an Eagle Scout project, Patrick Doyle constructed a boat ramp down to Whites Creek at Hartman Park.

Other volunteers picked up trash in the area over the weekend, and among the tires and other garbage, they found some pretty interesting things that were thrown away.

"We usually find something beautiful or interesting, and this year we found a Jacuzzi and it looked like a brand new unit that had fallen off a truckload of Jacuzzis," said Michelle Carratu with the Whites Creek Watershed Alliance

Next weekend, clean-up organizers hope to invite kids out to Whites Creek with canoes to help try out the new boat ramp.
