Celina Pharmacist Sentenced To Federal Prison

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Celina pharmacist has been sentenced to serve 15 months in a federal prison for selling painkillers without a prescription. David Rivera, the acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, announced on Monday that 53-year-old William Lester Donaldson was given the sentence after pleading guilty last year to five counts of possessing and distributing hydrocodone.

In addition to the prison time, U.S. District Judge William J. Haynes Jr. imposed a fine of $25,000 on Donaldson and ordered him to be supervised for three years after being released from prison.

Officials said an in-store surveillance system showed Donaldson removing bottles of pills from a drawer in the pharmacy and placing them in his pocket.
