Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Water was restored early Tuesday morning after a water main break left some Franklin residents without water for nearly 12 hours.

The pipe burst around 2 p.m. Monday on Lewisburg Pike, between Stewart Street and Carriage Park Drive. Approximately 180 homes were without running water until crews were able to repair the pipe around 3:45 a.m.

After digging up and fixing the pipe, they had to fill the hole back in.

The roadway opened up to traffic around 4:45 a.m.
