Man Wanted On Multiple Warrants Captured In Kentucky

Posted: Updated:

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man that Clarksville Police considered a career criminal has been captured.

Officials said 57-year-old Ray Farmer was taken into custody Monday night in Lawrence County, Kentucky. No other details about the arrest were released.

Farmer had been released from the Tennessee Department of Corrections to a halfway house in July 2012 after serving five and a half years for burglary. He returned to the Clarksville area in September 2012, and since then, he collected 28 warrants in the area.

In January, police said he broke into the State Line Bar in Clarksville, where he damaged an ATM, destroyed an alarm system and took money.

Police said during his crime spree, Farmer has caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage to buildings or alarm systems and taken thousands of dollars of money or merchandise.  He often follows the same patterns. He breaks into closed businesses, uses a crowbar to break doors, and disables the alarm system.

Clarksville Police said that they had received calls from a business in Joelton and from the Henry County Sheriff's Office implicating Farmer in burglaries.
