CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Florida man trying to repair his RV on the side of the interstate in Clarksville was killed when a tractor trailer slammed into it.

According to the Leaf-Chronicle, 65-year-old Roger LaGrone, of Temple Terrace, Florida, along with a THP trooper had pushed the vehicle to the shoulder of I-24 near the Trenton Road overpass around 3 p.m. Thursday when a passing semi struck the RV, killing the driver instantly.

A passenger inside the motor home, identified as 67-year-old Kenneth R. Nichols, of Ridgefarm, Illinois, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, the newspaper reported.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.

The THP issued citations, but no criminal charges would be filed. The crash remained under investigation.
