Shooting At South Nashville Party Injures One

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Four different law enforcement agencies rushed to south Nashville early Sunday morning after shots were fired at a party that was packed with hundreds of people.

Metro Police said just after midnight a fight broke out at the party on Nolensville Pike. Party-goers said it was a "SlamFest." One person was shot in the leg and showed up later at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police officers from the Brentwood and Nolensville Police Departments assisted Metro Police on the call, along with troopers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Officers said the large number of people at the party made it difficult for them to respond.

Authorities said the house where the shooting happened had been rented out specifically for the party.
