SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Shelbyville police chief spoke out after he said a man on the run from the law took dead aim at one of his own police officers from behind the wheel of his truck over the weekend.

Police said 22-year-old Michael Sudberry of Shelbyville was only going to get pulled over for speeding, but instead he took off, leading police and sheriff's deputies on a chase all over town.

Police said Sudberry also tried to run down one of the officers trying to stop him.

Nearly 30 minutes into the high-speed chase, Sudberry T-boned an SUV on Highway 64 and Coble Road.

That crash killed Sudberry.  The driver of the SUV was treated for injuries at a hospital, and then released.
