Posted: Updated:

STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. – Two women have been charged in murder-for-hire scheme to kill one of their daughters.

Stewart County Authorities said 72-year-old Fredia Joann Portune and 23-year-old Jessica Marie Cook schemed to have Portune's daughter killed.

They allegedly told the would-be hit man to set fire to Portune's daughter's trailer in exchange for a boat.

Each woman was charged with solicitation to commit murder. They were held on $500,000 bond in the Henry County Jail.

The case remained under investigation, and more charges were possible.
