NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt men's basketball coach Kevin Stallings has hired Harvard assistant Yanni Hufnagel to fill a spot on his staff.
Hufnagel spent the last four years at Harvard, where he worked as a recruiting coordinator and also assisted in scouting and perimeter player development.
Vanderbilt announced Thursday in a university release that Hufnagel would replace Brad Frederick pending a school-mandated background check. Vanderbilt announced in its release that Frederick is expected to join another staff in a few weeks.
Stallings said in a statement that Hufnagel "is a superb young coach with a tireless work ethic, and is also an outstanding recruiter and evaluator of talent." Stallings added that "we will surely miss Brad, both personally and professionally."
Before his stint with Harvard, Hufnagel worked as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma.
