Water Main Break Gushes In East Nashville

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A water main break gushed water into the air in east Nashville on Friday morning.

A pipe burst around 5 a.m. on South 6th Street, just south of Fatherland Street. Water spewed up to 20 feet in the air, and began flooding the immediate area, where about 40 units of government housing were under construction. It did not appear that they suffered much damage.

Traffic was not impacted.

Crews were able to shut off the water sometime before 6:40 a.m.
