NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville is gearing up for some big time celebrations this week.

The CMA Music Festival begins on Thursday, bringing dozens of artists to the Music City.

Things got started on Sunday with a CMT One Country event, which honored volunteers from Nashville Cat Rescue, with a special guest, singer Janelle Arthur.

As part of the CMA music festival this week, dozens of musical acts will hit the Riverfront stage downtown. The concerts are all free.

"I'm actually going to be here for the CMA fest this week I'm going to be at the CMT awards on the red carpet and happy to be a part of that," said Arthur.

The CMA Music festival runs from June 6th through 9th.
