Driver Killed In Fiery Crash In Ashland City

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. – A driver was killed in a fiery crash in Cheatham County on Wednesday night.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said 42-year-old James Guest was traveling along State Highway 12 in Ashland City around 9:30 p.m. when he overcorrected on a turn, and drover off the road.

The vehicle went in a deep ditch and struck several trees, causing the vehicle to go up in flames. Guest died on the scene. 

Authorities believe Guest was speeding. They also found alcohol at the scene, but don't know if it played a factor in the crash.

The investigation was ongoing.
