Man Found Shot To Death In Lewis County Home

Posted: Updated:

HOHENWALD, Tenn. - Lewis County Sheriff Officials said they are working a homicide investigation after a man was found shot to death inside his Hohenwald home.

Police said the victim was 65-year-old Donald Runion. He was found dead inside his home at 960 Centerville Highway. The incident was reported around 1 p.m. Friday. This after Runion's ex-wife and neighbor Randy Willis went to check on him after several attempts to call.

"He's a good man, a good neighbor, it's terrible," said Willis.

Investigators said they are currently speaking to persons of interest in this case. No suspects or motives have been identified yet, but there was no forced entry and they don't believe this was a random act.

"The family is taking it hard but we hope to find out who done this to him," said Lewis County Sheriff Dwayne Kilpatrick.

Sheriff Kilpatrick said he knew Runion personally and that he was a good man who has never been in trouble before.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the local police.
