NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Strong storms moved through areas south of Nashville Monday afternoon leaving damage behind in Williamson and Rutherford counties.

The damage was widespread and closed down roads as emergency officials worked to clear up the debris.

In Williamson County, the storm shut down Split Log Road in Brentwood for several hours after a tree knocked down a utility pole.

In the Grassland area just outside of Franklin, high winds knocked a tree on top of house. No one was home when the 60-foot tree crashed into the middle of the house.

The mother and her son who live in the house said they will have to find somewhere else to stay while the house is repaired.
