Cause Of Vacant House Fire In Madison Under Investigation

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The cause of a vacant house fire in Madison remained under investigation Monday morning.

Flames were shooting through the roof of the home on Neelys Bend Road when first crews got on the scene around 9:15 a.m. A neighbor first spotted the flames and called it in.

Sky 5 HD showed multiple firefighters spraying water on the home trying to douse the flames. They had to bring in water from about a half mile away because there was no access nearby.

Firefighters struggled to put out the blaze because of the heat. Some firefighters were resting off to the side of the home, drinking water. A paramedic unit was on scene as a precaution.

Fire officials said the home was vacant, and the electricity was not turned on.  The Fire Marshal responded to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
