LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A small plane crashed onto a Louisville-area golf course, injuring four men.

WLKY in Louisville reported that the plane crashed onto the Seneca Golf Course at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The course is close to Bowman Field.

A witness, who called 911, said the plane was spinning before it hit the ground, likely nose first.

WLKY said the tower at the airport is staffed until 9:00 p.m. After that, authorities said runway lights can be activated by aircraft.

Louisville Metro police said the four men rescued were in their late teens and early 20s.

The pilot and two passengers were in serious condition, while another passenger was in critical condition Wednesday.

The fixed-wing single-engine Cessna is registered to Cardinal Wings Aviation LLC. The pilot was recently licensed.

The plane was towed away by two tow trucks Wednesday.
