Thousands Hit Downtown For Gay Pride Celebration

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Music City celebrated it's 25th annual Nashville Pride Celebration on Saturday. Thousands of people filled First Avenue and Riverfront Park for the event which celebrates the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community.

The celebration featured live music, entertainment, and several local vendors. Organizers of the festival said it's time for equality, inclusion, and some education.

"You get in here and you see a lot of diversity," said Lisa Howe with the Nashville GLBT Chamber of Commerce. "But you see someone that's just like your neighbor, your uncle, your best friend, your co-worker, and so, I think Pride does a great job of educating."

June is nationally known as Pride month.
