New Nashville "Watermark" Dedicated

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Another piece of Nashville's "Watermarks" artwork was dedicated on Saturday. The latest one is called "Anchor in the Storm."

It's one of six pieces scattered across Nashville in the communities hit hardest by the 2010 flood. "Anchor in the Storm" was created by Betty and Lee Benson and represents the link between the West Park neighborhood and the Rogers Group Limestone Quarry nearby.

During the flood, a crack in the limestone channeled 700-billion gallons of flood water into the quarry, most likely saving many homes from the flooding.

The artists see the raft as a place where people can gather, sit, and unite as a community.
