NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old in the Edgehill area on Sunday night.

Metro Police charged 20-year-old Marquise Hill with evading arrest, but he was not charged in the shooting or identified as the shooter.

Police said the 17-year-old male victim had been sitting on his motor bike talking to some friends in the 1000 block of Edgehill Avenue when a man walked up and started shooting around 8:50 p.m. The victim was struck in the groin and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

According to the affidavit, an officer searching the area spotted a man who matched the description on the shooter on Hillside Avenue. When the man saw the patrol car, police said he took off running. After refusing commands to stop, the officer was able to take the man, later identified as Hill, into custody.
