Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two employees at a south Nashville fast food restaurant were assaulted by a robber with a gun early Tuesday morning.

The robber entered the Jack in the Box on Capital Funds Court, just off Murfreesboro Pike, around 5:30 a.m. He was holding a gun when he jumped over the counter, pistol-whipped the two employees, and demanded money while forcing them to the ground.

He stole an undisclosed amount of money, and took off on foot.

The employees, a male and a female, suffered minor injuries.

Around 11 p.m., the Sonic at 2761 Murfreesboro Pike was also robbed at gunpoint. The gunman went into the restaurant through the back door and forced a clerk to empty the cash register.

It was unclear if the two robberies were related.

No arrests have been made.
