Police: Man Attempts Drug Deal With Two Kids In Car

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man trying to make a drug deal ended up flagging down a car with officers inside, and police said he had two children with him.

34-year-old Alfio Lewis told police he was meeting someone who was going to buy drugs in exchange for a car. Instead, he flagged down the police car while in the parking lot of a middle school.

When police officers got out, they said 34-year-old Alfio Lewis tried to hide several bags of cocaine in the car.

After officers arrested Lewis, they found a 6-year-old and a 2-year-old in the back seat of the car. It was unclear if the children were taken by the Department of Child Services.

Police said a woman was also driving the car, but it was unclear if she was arrested.

Lewis has a long criminal history, including drug sales and a homicide charge, according to police.

Lewis was held on $30,000 bond.
