GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Gallatin Police Department asked for the public's help in finding two suspects wanted in connection to a check washing operation.

Police said Mark Thomas Chandler and Tony Allen Plunk have also committed similar crimes in Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, White House and Metro Nashville.

Investigators said the suspects would steal checks out of business mailboxes and then use the "check washing" process where they erase the original names and check amounts, replacing the names and amounts. Chandler and Plunk would then allegedly cash the altered checks.

Both The Gallatin Police Department and The Hendersonville Police Department have outstanding warrants for Chandler and Plunk.

The United States Postal Inspector was assisting the Gallatin Police Department in the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Gallatin Police Department at 615-452-1313.
