NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nashville got down and dirty for Saturday's annual "Muddy Buddy" event, which raises money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

L.P. Field was transformed into a giant playground for the urban adventure race. Teams could choose between the Muddy Buddy Bike & Run or the Muddy Buddy Run, which kept teams together as they navigated the obstacles of the course on foot.

Each event's finale involved both teammates crawling through a 50-foot-long mud pit before crossing the finish line together.

More than 2,000 people took part. Many of them were dressed in crazy costumes and special t-shirts.

In addition to L.P. Field, the course also took participants across the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge and on a 2-mile trek towards Shelby Park.

Several NewsChannel 5 personalities took part in the event, including Kristin Priesol, Steve Hayslip, Marcus Washington, Janet Kim, Chris Conte and others.

This was the fifth year for the event in Nashville.
