Nashville Hosts International Puppet Festival

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Puppeteers from all over the world gathered at the Nashville Public Library on Saturday for the International Puppet Festival.

The free event at the main library downtown included family-friendly puppet performances, live music, and an outdoor street fair. The event kicked off on Friday and goes through Sunday.

"Everybody loves puppets, adults and kids," said local puppeteer Morgan Matens. "It's wonderful because they have this incredible power. Everybody stares at a puppet when it's moving. There's something really magical about that, and I love being a part of that magic."

World Renowned Puppeteer Phillip Huber also performed Saturday night at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center as part of the festival. He's done work for movies like "Oz, The Great and Powerful."
