MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A Murfreesboro family is talking about a simple mistake that almost cost their 2-year-old toddler his life in a family pool on Sunday.

"It happened so quickly, it happened so quickly," says 25-year-old Faith Williams.

Faith's youngest son Phoenix was in a backyard pool with her on Sunday afternoon, she says she was standing next to the toddler and she lifted him out of the pool. But as she turned her back to grab a toy he somehow slipped back in.

"He couldn't have been in there less than a minutes because I was still in the water but he already turned blue," she recalls.

Phoenix's grandma immediately began CPR on the little boy.

"I was so relieved that he was breathing," Cari Wilson says about the ordeal.

Phoenix was rushed to a nearby hospital but later released after doctors said all of his vital signs were good.

The family hopes other people hear their story and are reminded to get certified or re-certified in CPR, something they say probably save Phoenix's life.
