6-Year-Old Dies After Williamson County Crash

Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A 6-year-old boy injured in a crash Friday night in Williamson County has died from his injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Monday that Abram Flores died after the crash on Old Hillsboro Road. It was unclear if he was wearing a seatbelt.

A report said Richard T. James was driving a Ford Ranger when he went off the right side of the roadway around 3:30 p.m. Friday. He overcorrected, and went back on the road sideways, striking the vehicle Flores was traveling in with 27-year-old Maria Zaragoza driving and another child in the car.

The truck then went down a steep embankment, and landed upside down. The other vehicle rolled over one time, and landed upright.

Flores was taken to the hospital where he died. Zaragoza and the other child were also injured. James was not hurt.

The THP said criminal charges were pending.
