Hickman Co. Man Charged With Homicide In Wife's Death

LYLES, Tenn. – A Hickman County man has been arrested for the shooting death of his wife in their home. The man told deputies he was cleaning his rifle when it went off.

Officials with the Hickman County Sheriff's Office responded to 8146 Randolph Lane in Lyles, Tennessee at 1:36 a.m. Thursday.

When they arrived on scene, deputies found 28-year-old Catherin Taylor with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Taylor's husband, 27-year-old Cody Taylor, told officials he had been cleaning his gun when it went off.

After further investigation, Taylor was arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

Bond was set to be determined at a court appearance on July 23.

Officials did not say what led them to believe the incident was a homicide.
