Suspect Arrested For Threats With Fake Hand Grenade

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect was arrested after police said he threatened a nightclub security guard with a fake hand grenade.

The suspect, Khari Whitehead, was at a club in Davidson County late Thursday night when witnesses said he started acting outrageously.

Whitehead reportedly tried to kiss a security guard without consent and was asked to leave. It was then that police said Whitehead pulled out a hand grenade.

Officials said Whitehead threatened to use the grenade on the guard before putting it in his pocket and running off.

Police officers were able to track him down and pulled him over. Whitehead told them he was walking up to people and filming their reactions for a political statement.

They found the hand grenade in his pants pocket. Officials said the grenade was not functional so it could not have exploded.

Whitehead was arrested and booked into the Criminal Justice Center. He was charged with aggravated assault and perpetrating a prohibited hoax.
