MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro emergency officials responded to a water rescue at the Manson Pike Dam on Sunday afternoon.

When officials arrived on the scene near Searcy Street, two teens were found holding onto trees in the water.

Emergency crews used a rescue boat to paddle to the victims. The teens were then given personal flotation devices and helmets before being taken safely to shore.

According to police, the teens had gone for a swim and didn't realize the power of the water. Acting Shift Commander Clay Walls said, "They swam to the trees and waited for help."

No injuries were reported with this incident.
