Camp Widjiwagan Open Monday Despite Flooding

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Despite all the wet weather and flooding, a popular Nashville summer camp will be open on Monday.

The water rose about six and a half feet higher than normal at Camp Widjiwagan along Percy Priest Lake in south Nashville over the weekend.

Camp directors said that won't keep them from holding camp as they have plenty of other activates that don't use the beach area.

'"They'll be playing in our swimming pool and doing the slip and slide. They'll still get to do the banana boat, canoeing, and kayaking and climbing, horseback riding and sports we have soccer and tennis and volleyball. All kinds of fun things," said

Officials said the lake will likely go back to usable levels at mid-week.
