NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A tip to Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of a man who police said drove his vehicle into a liquor store and stole several bottles last week.

Shane Owen, age 40, was charged with burglary. Police said he admitted to being involved in the break-in last Friday at 4:30 a.m. when he drove a red pickup truck through the front door of Vine Street Wine & Spirits located at 493 Old Hickory Boulevard in South Nashville.

Once inside, surveillance showed he grabbed several bottles from the shelves before jumping back in his vehicle and leaving the scene.

Owens, who is homeless, has previous convictions for assault, evading arrest and theft. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
