I-40 Near Spence Lane Reopened After Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – All lanes of westbound Interstate 40 have been reopened after a multiple vehicle crash just before the Spence Lane overpass. As many as three lanes were closed at one point.

The crash happened at 3:50 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 213 near the entrance to the Spence Lane off-ramp. The cause of the crash was not available.

At least three incident response vehicles from the Tennessee Department of Transportation were on the scene, along with two trucks from the Nashville Fire Department, and ambulance and several officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The left three lanes were closed while emergency response crews worked at the scene. Two lanes reopened around 4:45 p.m. The scene was clear by 5:20 p.m.

Information about any injuries was not available.
