NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was arrested for trying to break into a building by making a hole in a brick wall.

A witness noticed a man pounding at the wall behind a strip mall on Nolensville Pike and Wallace Road, and called police.

Police arrived to find 34-year-old Christopher Bilbrey going back and forth between a white van parked next to the building and the wall behind a dumpster. When officers attempted to talk to him, he took off running.

They eventually caught up to him and took Bilbrey into custody after a brief struggle.

Bilbrey then told police he was breaking into the building hoping to get some money to help out a friend. He never made entry

Police said Bilbrey also admitted to stealing the van, which had a medical supplies logo on it. He was charged with burglary, evading arrest, assault, and theft. His bond was set at $20,000.
