Man Charged In Knife Fight At Columbia Apartments

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Columbia Police Department released the names of two men injured in a knife fight outside an apartment complex.

Marben "Melbin" Belladi and Jerusalen "Alejandro" Cortez Barradas were both found with severe cuts outside the Graymere Manor apartments around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police found Belladi first with severe cuts to his arm. Barradas was found shortly after lying inside an apartment unresponsive in a pool of blood. Investigators determined Barrada attacked Belladi with a glass beer bottle and a large knife.

Both victims were taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

By Wednesday afternoon, Barradas was released from the hospital after only suffering minor injuries and taken into custody. He was charged with aggravated assault.

Belladi still in the hospital for treatment but was expected to recover.
