LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. – A former reserve deputy in Lincoln County has been charged with stealing from his full-time employer.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested 47-year-old Robert Vann Dupree Monday on two warrants charging him with theft and burglary.

Dupree worked for the South Central Human Resources Agency in Fayetteville. An investigation found Dupree charged his employer's fuel card for personal use between September 2012 and February 2013.

On January 23, Dupree also unlawfully entered the South Central Human Resources Agency facility after hours, obtained a set of master keys, entered several offices and took household items that had been donated by area businesses intended to be given to families in need.

The TBI said Dupree also served as a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department posse, which is its reserve deputy program.

Dupree was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on $1,330 bond.
