NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man robbed at gunpoint ended up with just a few bruises after robbers shot him with BB guns.

The victim told police he had gone to an apartment complex on Hickory Highlands Drive to visit a friend on Tuesday night. He was sitting in his car when three men carrying guns opened the driver's side door and dragged him out.

They pushed him to the ground and took his wallet and his cell phone, but once they found out his wallet had no money in it, they began searching his vehicle. After discovering he had no money, they shot at him with the guns they were carrying.

Initially the victim thought he was being shot with real guns, but it turned out they were BB guns. He suffered bruises from the pellets, and one embedded in his skin, but he did not suffer serious injuries.

The shooters took off on foot.

The victim was later able to identify one of the men in a photo lineup. Devonte Brooks was charged with aggravated robbery.

Anyone with information about the other two robbers is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
