PULASKI, Tenn. – An anonymous tip led police to arrest an Alabama man wanted for raping a Pulaski infant less than 24 hours after he was added to the Tennessee Top Ten Most Wanted List.

Huntsville Police arrested 24-year-old Anthony Dean Blackwell early Friday, after receiving a call that he ws standing outside the Voo Doo lounge on Southside Square. Officers took him into custody without incident in Big Spring Park.

Blackwell, of Huntsville, was wanted for one count of rape of a child.

On June 9, investigators said Blackwell was babysitting a 4-month-old baby at a home in Pulaski. When the infant's mother returned home, she noticed signs of trauma later determined to be injuries suffered from sexual abuse.

The victim underwent surgery at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville to repair the injuries.

Blackwell was held in the Madison County jail without bond. Authorities said he has a criminal history that includes public intoxication, reckless driving, evading arrest, vandalism, traffic and noise violations, and driving under the influence. His arrests took place in Pulaski as well as Maury County.
