Shooting Victim Flags Down Metro Officer For Help

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man with an apparent gunshot wound made his own way to a police officer in Davidson County.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were at South 6th Street near Shelby Avenue in East Nashville when a man driving by in a vehicle stopped and flagged them down around 8 p.m.

The man told the officers he had been shot in the chest once. His identity was not released, but police said he was in his 40s.

His injuries were not believed to be life threatening

The man told police the shooting happened near 600 10th Street. They were still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and who pulled the trigger.
