5-Year-Old Among 4 Injured In Crash In Rutherford County

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – A 5-year-old girl was among four people injured in a serious crash in Rutherford County on Friday morning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Chevy Ventura minivan was driving on Walter Leathers Road around 10:10 a.m. when it made a left turn in front a GMC pickup truck, and they collided. Sky 5 HD showed both vehicles off the roadway.

A 5-year-old girl, who was not in a child restraint device, was ejected from the minivan. She was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The driver of the minivan, 20-year-old Ana Maradiaga and a passenger, were taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt.

The driver of the GMC, 50-year-old Connie Reeves was taken by ambulance to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Their conditions were not immediately known.

The THP said charges were pending.
