Posted: Updated:

BEAN STATION, Tenn. (AP) - The city of Bean Station in Grainger County is responding to a violent pharmacy robbery that killed two people.

A weekend event called the "Rock Out Against Violence Home Town Ho Down" brought together members of the community is response to the May 23 killing of pharmacy owner Stephen Lovell and customer Alexander Sommerville. Two other pharmacy employees who were shot survived.

Authorities have charged a former police officer, Jason Bryan Holt, with murder and attempted murder.

One of the organizers of the anti-violence event was Charles Halliwell. He told WBIR-TV the concert on Sunday was on what would have been his son's 28th birthday, had he not died eight years earlier of a drug overdose.
