Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The person killed in a single vehicle crash in the Bordeaux area has been identified as 50-year-old Patrick Davis.

Witnesses told said Davis was traveling at a high rate of speed on West Hamilton Avenue around 3:45 p.m. Monday when he lost control.

The vehicle left the road, hit a tree, and rolled several times before coming to rest upside down in a field. The force of the collision with the tree ripped the back fender and bumper off the vehicle.

Officials said Davis died on the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Davis lived on Vanderhorst Drive, just one mile from the scene of the crash.

West Hamilton between Flicker Drive and Tucker Road was closed while the fatal crash team from the Metro Nashville Police Department reconstructed the crash.

Investigators said there was no evidence alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
