NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Tennessee Titans player is being called a hero after saving a family from a burning car.

According to Clemson's sports website Tigernet.com, former Clemson linebacker Jonathan "Tig" Willard was driving from South Carolina on I-40 eastbound on his way to Titans training camp Tuesday afternoon when he noticed smoke coming from the car in front of him.

He got the driver's attention, and she pulled over. He was able to get the woman, her children and pets out of the car before it was fully engulfed in flames.

Willard is a rookie linebacker for the Titans, who signed a free agent contract following this year's draft.
