NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A tourist was able to snap a picture of a getaway car following a purse snatching in downtown Nashville on Wednesday morning.

Police said a woman was getting into her parked car in a parking lot at 6th Avenue South and Demonbreun Street when a man approached her and pulled out a knife. He demanded the woman's purse, and the struck her in the shoulder as he grabbed the purse from the passenger seat of her car.

He then ran to a 2000 model burgundy Honda Civic driven by a female accomplice and fled the scene. It has slight damage above the driver's side wheel and a dark colored license plate.

A tourist who heard the victim yell took a picture of the getaway car as it left the parking lot.

The man was described as a "skinny white man with shaggy hair wearing red shorts."
