NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Florida man has been arrested after police said he pimped out a 17-year-old girl for sex.

Police arrested 27-year-old Jeffery L. Dale, of Pensacola, Florida, and charged him with promoting the prostitution of a minor, trafficking a minor for commercial sex and statutory rape.

Detectives learned a 17-year-old girl who fled from a state placement on Sunday was featured in an adult advertisement online, and arranged to meet her at a room at the Hickerson Motel on Nolensville Pike early Thursday morning.

The girl arrived at the motel in a car with Dale, who rented the room in his name before leaving.

Officers stopped him a short distance away. The girl told police she met Dale at a bus station Sunday, and had consensual sex with him.

The teen was taken to juvenile detention as a runaway.

Dale was held in lieu of $55,000 bond.
